Rockets vs Spurs

Got to watch the Rockets almost blow a big lead again to the Spurs. They managed to hold on and win mostly because T-Mac shot 104%. Actually he shot 58%, but close enough. That makes two games in a row that the Rockets have won in SA. Which is funny because I don't think they've won in SA since 1997 or something like that.

Another weird thing is that the Rockets and Spurs each have one person on the injured reserve. Yet the Spurs brought 15 players to the game tonight and the Rockets only 10. Where are all the other Rockets? The Spurs only played 11 of their players but the Rockets only played eight!

Kind of odd. Anyone have an explanation for this? Maybe this happens a lot but it seemed kind of weird to me.

spurs were 12.5% from 3pt fg, missing pretty much every open look they got. i think the rockets did a great job of keeping the spurs off balance and not letting them get into an offensive rythm.
timmy was the only one that showed up... again. maybe the best offensive game of the season for him (37pts on 15-28 shooting).
but even though timmy was great, just like every night, the rest of the team managed to let this one go.
houston did exactly what they set out to do. they knew before hand that timmy was going to get his (i still think mutumbo shaking his finger at tim was a bad idea. im pretty sure the rockets would've won by about 15-20 more points if he would no have pissed tim off like that. timmy never takes that many shots.) and they kept the defensive pressure on manu. consequently, manu never really got going and the rest of the spurs sat back to watch the 'shane battier school of defensive fundamentals'.
dammit i wish the spurs had battier. i agree with patrick- if the rockets didnt have battier they would be up a creek.

Spurs play a deeper bench than anyone in the league. Rockets usually play deeper, often giving The Third some playing time. Kirk Snyder had the flu, so he couldn't play.

At what point is Bonzi going to get his head out of his ass and start playing basketball? 4pts and 4 tos? Not acceptable.

I think the Rockets were lucky to get out of there with a win. If it weren't for Battier's D and Tracy's O, they wouldn't have stood a chance.

This is the perfect example of why it is so frustrating to be a Rockets fan. TMac took over the game at the end, and the Rockets looked like they could play with anybody in the league. But you know in a couple days, Tmac's back will start acting up and he will miss games again.
