Peja - The Yugoslavian Sharp Shooter

I know Jake is always going off on Steve Nash and his shooting percentages.

I don’t know how much you guys have looked at Peja Stojakovic. This season he’s shooting 47.8% three-pointers as compared to Nash’s 46.6%. Not only that, but he attempts 6.3 three-pointers a game compared to Nash’s 4.7.

I think that’s the most incredible part. That he can put up that many 3’s and still have such a high percentage. Because while Jason Kapono’s 51% three-pointers is impressive he only takes 1.9 a game.

What else is crazy is that Peja is 6-10!

And Ray Allen… He’s shooting 37.5% from 3-point land this season. In fact, the best he’s ever shot three-pointers is 43.4%. Maybe he got the “sweet shot” moniker because he attempts a lot of them. He had a season where he attempted 8.4 three-pointers a game!

good work jammers. put ray allen in his place!

but seriously, i didn't realize peja was so lights out this year- he's shooting better long range than he ever has, by far.

(and here comes the part where i get on steve's jock again)
every season since the 04-05 season, steve has avg'd :
15+ ppg
11+ apg
<2 PF
<4 TO
88%+ FT
50%+ FG
43%+ 3pt

fast paced offense schmast schmaced schmoffense, that's bonkers.
over the last 3-4 years, its a short Fing list of dudes that have been that consistent, efficient, and effective.

this post was about how bad ass steve nash is, right?
oh, wait...

and i'm the ONLY one that will post predictions?! come on

I always thought the "sweet shot" moniker had to due with having a jumpshot that was mechanically perfect. Like, the opposite of Marion's jumpshot.
