Game 1: Houston dominates
I really think this win goes to Mr. Mutumbo. Sure, they were dominating before he came in, but Houston was beating the Mavs in the 3rd quarter too. This game, Yao went out and they kept the lead through really tough defense. Battier, Mutumbo, and Artest? Not to mention Lowery, who is a pretty good defender at PG.
JVG has called out the brooms. That would be awesome.

This was awesome. I guess I underestimated the Tao of Yao (really of Adelman). I did not expect HOU to utilize Yao to his fullest potential. I thought maybe Adelman had been using him sparingly (somewhat at least) during the season to minimize the likelihood of stress injuries but he logged almost 34 min/gm which isn’t a small amount.
Did it look like they made a stronger effort to give Yao more touches than during the regular season (to anyone who has watched them more regularly)?
It wouldn’t have surprised me to see the Rockets win the series but I kinda thought JVG was being a homer by predicting dominance…
They didn't try harder, I think they just did a better job, Yao included. There were a couple of times that they reposted him, and that is always effective.
I think Yao is the opposite of Kobe. He's more important to get going early, and they go away from in the second half.
I feel bad for Mutumbo, too bad he couldn't at least finish this season.
I guess, though, if you play forever, you will eventually get injured.
I still always think of that ridiculous series when he and abdul-rauf upset seattle. I even bought a nuggets hat cause of that season. My first time, showing a little support for someone not detroit:)

I jsut saw the postgame for this. Wow, Hou must have been in a good mood. It was like the Improve around that mic. Adelman, ron , and yao had me busted.
