A Brooks.

I asked this on an old thread, but i wanna know what you think so i am giving it a thread.

How do you (patrick or any other houston fan that may read this) feel about sending alston to orlando and promoting Brooks? Brooks said he thought it was a joke when he heard it on the news, heheh. I remember a while back, you speaking highly of brooks. All i know is that he is fast as heck. Is he ready? whats the deal?

i like brooks more than alston, but when i think of their starting 5, i see him as the weakest of the group.

course, those other 4 dudes are pretty stinking good.

Yea, he's definitely a guy with more potential than play. He's a better shooter than Alston, and he's a hellova lot faster. Adelman wants to get more running going into the offense. One of their strategies is to get a score before Yao can even get to that side of the court. Reduces wear on Yao and fast breaks are a high percentage shot and changes up their offense.

Also, there may have been a locker room issue with Alston and TMac.

But, more than anything I think they are looking towards the future. Lowery and Brooks make up a pretty nice young group to grow into.

I like the move.

I read this pretty interesting column about the extent of economic trouble for NBA clubs. It was pretty surprising. I guess thing are significantly worse than i realized. I had thought the Pistons trade was partly for monetary reasons. Now i saw it may have been entirely for monetary reasons. supposedly 20 of 30 clubs are losing money this year, and next year will be much worse. His sources are really sometimes funny, like, "a guy in the know." lol. But i tried to take it for what it was.

Anyway, i mention this because i was wondering what alstons contract was worth. Houston could ahve been doing a similar thing.

Ill look for the article again latter and post it.
