King James is here to Reign!

I guess I can't really say "I told you so" since I still thought Detroit would win after the series was 2-2. But I did say that Cleveland had a shot. I thought it was strange that almost everyone just expected Detroit to move on. Did they forget that Miami beat them last year. And Cleveland took them 7 games last year.

To be honest Detroit is lucky that they didn't get swept. If Marshall had made that three in game 1 and if LeBron would have gotten a call at the end of game two Cleveland probably would have swept.

Anyways...on to the future. Does Cleveland even have a chance at beating SA? Or should we not be so quick to dismiss the Cavs as we did in the last round? I still say SA in six games. Mostly because LeBron will probably go off in at least one game and score like 40+. And then very often SA loses the first game of a series and then gets all serious.

One weird thing that someone pointed out. The Spurs seem to only be able to win a championship in an odd year. 99, 03, 05, 07? How many more do you think they can win? I believe Timmy, Manu and Tony are all tied up in contracts with SA until 2011.

P.S. - Etroit is hilarious. We play at work with a guy named Derek. But his defense is so non-existent that my old boss said we should start calling him Erek. I think that one works better as both Derek and Erek are real names. But still, Etroit is pretty damn funny.

i thought Detroit was gonna run away with it also, and i don't feel like that was a bad take.
the way Det was playing going into the playoffs was fantastic- i'd say hands down the most solid club in the east.
also, i thought cleveland looked particularly weak during the reg season and let's face it; they weren't exactly stellar in the Det series.
when it came to crunch time, i felt like Det really fell apart-they played some of the worst ball of their season right there at the end. bad timing.
i'm not trying to take any credit away from Cle- they (lebron) beat det fair and square.
but if you tell me that Cle was playing great ball, i'm gonna call you a liar. cause they weren't.

on to the future...
i don't think cle has a chance.
i know that's bold, but even considering that Cle won both reg season games, i don't think that team can hang with SA.
however, i do think it's possible for lebron to 'go off' and win a game or two for them. if they win more than 2 games this series , i will be astounded.
shooting from the hip, i'd say SA is gonna sweep em, but i guess 5 or 6 games is just as likely. it's too true about SA losing 1 or 2 early games and THEN getting serious. as frustrating as that is, i think that's part of their style.
even when you look at individual games (or individual quarters), it seems they almost need to be in hot water before they start to really play to their potential. but once they get serious, watch the f out.
if they play at the level they have been playing at since the allstar break, i give Cle a 0.03% chance in this series.
(of course, i would have given them about a 0.91% chance in that Det series and we all saw how wrong i would have been there, so...)
we shall soon see if King LebronkeyKong James truly is
'Chosimba'

I have a strange feeling about this series. I wouldn't be that surprised to see it go to 7 and I can actually envision a scenario that Cleveland wins it (other than a DStern rigging via 103 fouls on LeBron this series - note: DWade had over 90 in the 6 games against DAL last Finals).

All of that said, I'll stick w/ my prediction of SA in 6.

I really do believe CLE is good enough defensively to keep it close every game though. And let's face it... with 2 minutes to go, tie ballgame (on a neutral court), do you want LeBronkey, Boobie, & Zeke OR Timmy, Frenchy, & Manu? I could actually go either way but I'd lean toward SA for what seems like primarily a 4th factor - Coach Pop (were you thinking Horry? Me too).

Finalsly, I just feel like CLE can win at least 2 at home. Take note that the Finals is setup 2-3-2 (rather than 2-2-1-1-1, like every other series). I don't think, since the finals has been setup this way that any team had won all 3 games at home... until last year's MIA team. Assuming CLE can't do what MIA did, they'd have to take TWO games in SA; that's a tall order.

Final tidbit: Anyone else feeling old? Well try this on for size. CLE has 7 players born after 1980. 5 of them played significant roles in the series against the Pistons. 3 of the biggest names are younger than TonyP and the other big name is only 4 months older. In birth order: Varejao, Parker, Pavlovich, LeBron, & Gibson.

Boobie was born in 1986.
