More Conspiracy Theories

So, I don't know if you've been paying attention, but last season's Celtic's schedule has been given to this season's Lakers.

8 of their first 13 in LA
9 of their next 13 are .500 or less

The League is generating confidence and momentum for the Lakers. And everyone here knows confidence and momentum wins in basketball.

Its just crappy that we can't get a balance playing field to work in.

agreed.

easy sched/no injuries are huge, and sort of tied together.

with the way they do the sched (see last years blog) its tough because if you are the only team in a shitty conf/div then you have a much better chance to limit your stars minutes, thus greatly reducing the chance of injury and giving your 2nd string a chance to find some chemistry. you can see some evidence of this in the spurs from a few years back- pop kept timmy and manu's minutes under 30/game for most of the season, neither of them got hurt badly, and they won it all.

i know this is a tough road to go down, but it's not like i'm making any of this up-

last year, the Cs were the only team worth a crap in their div, and consequently during most of their blowouts against terrible teams, the were able to limit the minutes of their big 3 AND give their bench guys some much needed playing time. i think this was a great move, and it obviously payed huge dividends.

now consider the spurs and rockets of last year.
exact opposite situation, with exact opposite results.

i'm sure whoever out of the top 5-7 teams ends up having the easiest path and fewest injuries will likely win it all again this year.

although, as the lakers showed us last season, they may be so good that a huge injury doesn't necessarily ruin their chances... the lakers scare me. i bet jer is lickin his chops right about now but i'm sure he's too polite to say that:)
