I've made this comment to a few of you, but I thought it worthy of a post. Why is Melo the leading scorer on this team? Is he really that good? Mark says its cause he's efficient. But the guy is getting more touches than anyone else.
Will the American team lose a game?
Are they gauranteed the gold?

Carmela looks pretty efficient to me... then again, everyone on this team does. Miller is the only one shooting under 40% & Billups/Prince are the only others under 50%. That's nuts.
I haven't watched much of the games but looking at the stats alone, it really looks like he's taking a lot more shots than anyone else too though. He's rebounding better than Stoudamire & Howard (though Howard has slightly fewer minutes) & he's killing from three. More than anything, he's just taking a lot more shots than anyone (especially when you count the fact that his 40 free throws account for an approx. 20 more shots taken).
More surprising to me... Michael Redd?!? is the 2nd leading scorer... pulease.
And check out LeBron's line... that's INSANE. He's avg. 15pts (75% overall & 62.5% from three!), 3.8 rebound, 4.3 assists, & 1.3 steals in about 20 min. per game.
I know the nature of these games are part of the issue, but even comparing him to his peers (some of the best players in the world), he simply stands out. Have him shoot MORE 3's please! I'd love to see him avg. 70% from 3 taking more shots.
No. I actually hate Melo. He's right up there with Kobe for me. In fact, I think Melo is a big P*%#@Y. I thought he was a chump before he threw that punch and ran away. Then when he pulled that crap, it only solidified my disdain.
I do love that video though. I was blown away when I first saw it. And now that I know that it's a joke, I think they should hand the writers of that bit a Nobel Prize right now.
