Iverson starts, Rip bench.

Well, it is official. Rip, the leading scoring in the DET the previous 6 seasons is a Bench player. And if we are to believe him, he is cool with that.

As you know, pistons have been extremely inconsistent. But, believe it or not, even this late in the season, the pistons still have a chance to play much better ball. Curry (pistons coach) decided he had to give a chance for a lineup with the 5 best players to work.

Perhaps he figured it would fail all along, but thinks, the pistons would question one of them becoming 6th man if they did not see for themselves ultra small-ball wasn't going to work. Obviously, curry knew the team was much better starting two bigs. I mean, with rasheed and rip out, we started Amir Johnson and Kwame and won 7 in a row. It seems, he figured they would come back to a big line up eventually. I hope so anyway, cause no one in their right mind could expect Taysaun to play in the 4 all season. Even if he is awesome, he is rail thin. And has admitted to fatigue being a factor for him during a couple post seasons.

"We've been talking about this," said Curry, whose team won eight of 10 games with a bigger lineup when Hamilton was out because of a groin injury. They lost five straight when he came back.

"We were 5-3 with the small lineup before Rip got hurt and I thought it was fair to give him an opportunity to see how it went when he came back. But we just weren't good enough, especially starting off games."

On defense, we never set the tone and we were playing catch-up from a defense and rebounding standpoint."

Starting the bigger, more traditional lineup helps defensively, while bringing Hamilton off the bench solidifies the rotation. Curry said Hamilton will start the second and fourth quarters, along with point guard Will Bynum and forwards Antonio McDyess and Jason Maxiell.

It seems like only a miracle could have detroit among orlando and cleveland right now. But, at the same time, it seems rediculous we are not. We have always friggin owned orlando. And personal-wise detroit still seems like they should. (though i am impressed with how much J Nelson has upped his game.) Another seed of hope is that detroit has had good wins over many of the top teams: LAL, CLE, SAS, ORL, DEN.

Anyway, today is significant for detroit fans. The team has FINALLY determined their rotation. I will keep track of their record from this point on, and i hope it is a big improvement. This kinda feels like our one last chance to not be a mediocre team. Cause the all the adjusting has finally been put to rest, and this is what we are going with.

iverson looks tired. and slow. i mean, i never thought i'd say it. but he looks like he lost a step.
and they traded chauncey away right after the best season he's ever had? i dunno tom, maybe a bad move.

hows that for humoring you?

no i'm just *ucking with you tom i haven't watched any detroit at all this season.

are you happy with AI as your guy?

is he starting PG or Stuckey?

man stuckey is good. watched det/hou the other day.
i hadn't really watched him that much, but dang. dude has skills.

strange, and i know i'm not the first one to say this, but i think their biggest problem is one of their biggest assets-sheed.

this is contrary to how i have felt about the pistons in the past. i used to think it was a good thing to have a guy with that kind of energy on the floor. but after watching him in that houston game the other day, i just think he's a dick.

can you really be that great of a team if one of your 5 main guys is a total douchebag?
i think i would be annoyed and unhappy to have that guy on my team.
as i said, i only recently started feeling this way. i think i just didn't realize how much of a dickhead he is. has he always been such a dick?

agreed, sheed is like a first grade bully.

Buy, I think you are right, detroit might have their best ball in front of them.

I still think the chauncey trade was good because it gives them cap room after this year. Maybe AI won't work, but either way, they win.

I don't know if rasheed is a complete dick. But, he is like a juvenile delinquent. Some people, i think of as being a certain age. And if i always think of them as that age, it helps me to figure out what they are thinking or what motivates them. Like Kevin, from the ,The Office, i think of as being a 12 year old. Rasheed, i think of him as being 16ish, (though extra emotional).

Either way, for some reason commentators always point out how amazing Rasheed is when he is focused in. But no one ever says, "Ya know, his career is kind of a waste. Just think, what an amazing player he could have been; I mean, a truly amazing player. Unfortunately, all those remarkable physical characteristics went to a man that didn't just lack the desire to be great, but basic sense as well."

I wonder why they don't say that;D

I still think Detroit has a chance to become a good team again. After all, i still believe we ahve the personal for it. But the fact that it has taken this long makes ya think, even if they do figure it out, they still won't be a top tier team.

I think we need a master coach. A real Chief Head Doctor. Someone that can easily see what would be optimal, and then, have the group-psychology and motivational skills to make it happen.

Curry ended up in what has to be the most difficult situation a new coach can get. Detroit fans (the ones that comment after newspaper articles) seem to hate him and want to ride him out on a pole. I don't think he is doing terrible. Just not great either. But, he seems to have worked through things in a basically reasonable manner. And, if maybe for only the sake of blind optimism, i am giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

I do worry that Detroit might not be as attractive to those upcoming free agent classes, that is, if they continue to struggle for a prolonged time.
