brawl at the palace, ho-hum

I was out of town a while but i kept thinking about htings i would post. Especially during all the free agent moves. Why would anyone wanna play for the clippers. Everytime they get hot, nothing really happens and they are soon a losing or medicre club again. (I'm looking at you Byron Davis.) But i can never be bothered, i'll dicuss that junk at BC.

Detroit has been connected to several NBA stars in trade talks they definately went after Davis and Carmelo and even posey. But they were at least rumored to have talked to several others too. Now that everyones been signed, i guess they may trade during the season. Or just dream the popular dream of buying a Bronky Kong in 2010.

Actually the reason i hopped on here is cause i got cheated by the WNBA today (or maybe boradcast television). And there is no one around to bother with my grievence. I have not really watch a lot of WNBA. But i did follow Detroit Shocks run to the finals last year, and actually found it pretty entertaining. And it is funny how similar they are to the pistons. But i noticed a Shock game was on last night so i decided to recorded it. I heard that there was a brawl during the game, but i didnt' hear who won. So i was excited to watch an entertaining circus. "What luck," i thought, i record one random game and i get a brawl.

Well, i watched it all, then with 3 1/2 minutes on the game clock. My recording ended>.< I had forgotten the sports rule of always recording past the scheduled time cause every game runs over. Well the brawl was in the final couple minutes. So i spent an hour watching Detroit get beat, then didn't even see the close finish (detroit was down by 21, only lost by 3) or the brawl.

There. That was a nice little vent. Screw everybody!! See you all in a month. I'll be the one pointing and laughing at Haircut as he barfs bass. Who is gonna catch that sucker? I am a good fisherman, but I have spent 28 years really not wanting to touch them. Fish are gross.

Hooray, pistons got Kwame Brown. He is, like, as good as Pao Gasol. well, according to memphis.

Looks like artest heading to houston. I rather artest than kwame.

Truth is though, with the great lack of bigs in this league, we may actually be able to use kwame. News media is talking about how detroit has taken former top 5 busts and made champs out of them, like billups. But, i don't think billups was ever critized for lack of effort prior to detroit. His game just wasn't on yet. Still, kwame is 24 i think they said. So there is always a chance if they that young, i guess.

"Prior to the fight in 2004, he was suspended for two games for asking for a month off to promote an R&B album by a group on his production label"

Lol, that is a perfectly reasonable question, i don't see the big deal. I took a week off in grade school for pimp'n it.

whoops, in case it wasn't obvious, that last quote was about Ron Ron.

I always thought HOU was going to be top 2-3 in the west next year... I think they just became the favs in my mind. Artest & Battier on the floor at the same time?? Nobody's back court is scoring!

As for Kwame, Phil liked him if that matters. He's got tiny hands for his size but if it's any consolation, he bought wholeheartedly into the defense first attitude... problem is he's only got about 1/3 of a heart.

Anyone heard whether they're gonna keep Landry?

I can see the storyboards already when the first time TMac gets past the first round, he finishes the 4th round a success. That is... if he's not traded before the season starts (I don't think they'll be able to justify trading him during the season because I anticipate them to do so well... if they're sucking it up though, he's out right?)

i'm with you, HOU is #1. even if artest has an brain that never fully developed.
i sure hope they trade tracy before there's no value in him. right now, we could sell him off for enough money to clone battier, but if we wait much longer, we may only be able to afford a chuck hayes clone. and he would have that same goofy ass free throw.

sorry about kwame, tom. that sucks. if phil likes him so much, maybe he would trade you pao gasol for him;)

Artest is a great deal. They didn't really give up anything, and if he turns out to be a head case, well, its the last year in his contract anyways. Man, this Morey guy really knows what he's doing.

Landry is a restricted free agent. They aren't gonna give him up, but they won't offer him a contract till he gets his knee checked out....which of course he doesn't want to do.

So....Artest off the bench, or Scola? I kinda like the idea of Scola off the bench to bring in size after Yao goes out, but then I really like the idea of a lock down defender out there at all times too.

Houston is gonna have the #1 d this year, garaunteed.

tough call. i think i would have to bring Artest off the bench, if only because the Scola/Battier combo looked GREAT towards the end of last season.
i think, just like every houston fan for the last few years, we'll do great if we can STAY HEALTHY.
it's like yao's bones were made in China or something. sorry.

"July 31, 2008 – The Chicago Bulls announced today that the team has waived guard JamesOn Curry ."

"JamesOn Curry (born January 7, 1986)"

What the Hell? So is it pronouced James On?

Anyway, yeah Houston definately sounds badass. Unless, Mcgrady goes to Detroit; since, he loves it so much;D

Artest is another one Detroit went after. I get the feeling nobody wants the will-be-old-soon Billups.

We know Houston was already badass before injury. And didn't they already have great defense.

I bet you artest comes first off the bench. Though minutes may be the same as scola. Just guessing though.

Dude, if Kwame has only 1/3 the heart, he'll fit right in in detroit. No disrespect to the young dudes on the team; they are tight.
---------------

Who do yous think gets more minutes if detroit can't trade chauncey. Him or Stuckey?

Here's my guess. Billups gets a little more time at first; but, Stuckey still gets well over 20 minutes a game. Then they split time. And, as Stuckey outperforms, he takes more minutes than chauncey, maybe like 31 minutes per game.

Will Stuckey at anytime start in place of billups?

That would be wierd. But it wouldn't be surprising i guess. I predict that Chauncey will get sick somehow (since pistons dont have lenthy injuries) and Stucky will play great during a winning streak and either keep on starting, or starting very soon after chauncey gets healthy.
----------

Poor Yao, it must suck being 7'7". At least he gets to be a world icon.

Will Mutumbo be back?

Patrick said...

wow tom. I mean, i like stuckey, but i didn't know he was better than chauncey already.

mutumbo might be back, but his agent doesn't want him to play for the veteran's minimum for some reason. makes no sense to me.

dullstone said...

Mutumbo's heading to Poland on a three-year contract for 3 times the nba veterans minimum.

You couldn't say stuckey's better than chauncey already. But honestly, he may be. Chauncey know way more game. But Stuckey can actually create his own shots...not jsut create his own 3 pointer. (buuurrrrn, though chauncey can post up better than he can drive, which the pistons or chauncey would never try enough)

Stuckey was definately better during their final round. Where Chauncey was blowing plays and maintaining the lackadasical players quota, Stuckey was making all kinds of clutch shots and coming through in other ways.

Chauncey was the main chip(supposedly) on all the big trades the pistons went after, cause dumars is ready to let stuckey go and run the team.

I am basically a tool, and i believe whatever dumars believes when it comes to b-ball.

Where did you hear mutumbo is going to poland?

dullstone said...

Come on, three year contract? Mutumbo in Poland? That is so obviously a joke:D (just teasing ya)

dude, with all the people going to europe, i wouldn't be surprised!
