I get the filling my answer isn't the one in mind. 'Cause i thought of it as soon as i read the question. Too easy for a haircut riddle. My answer is correct, though.
Ok, I probably need to reword it, but here is the answer.
If your opponent scores a basket on their own goal, they give the points to the closest player. So, if you are the closest player and you are standing at half court, you get two points.
"A 3 pointer on your own goal counts only as 2 points?"
I was saying it is two points if you shoot it in the opposing goal from half court. It is the same as a loose ball ending up in the hoop.
But, yeah. Yours works; i didn't think of that.
I just thought of another one. I think a bounce shot is considered a loose ball in the air. So you could make a bounce shoot in your goal from halfcourt for two points.
Or, you could shoot the ball from inside the 3-point line, then just run to half court before the ball enters the goal.

alright tom, lets hear it.
shot a goal in the opposing hoop. two points scored, for the other team.
I should have clarified it as awarded 2 points for your team.
Good answer though, if its true. A 3 pointer on your own goal counts only as 2 points?
I kinda think it would count as 3 points.
